British Private Equity Investor HG to Acquire Controlling Stake in Benevity. BetaKit has confirmed earlier reports that Hg is buying majority control of the company…The Globe and Mail reported that UK-based Hg purchased control of Benevity, bringing the Calgary company’s valuation to more than $1 billion USD

3. Conferences

This week The International Economic Forum of the Americas held their Conference in Montreal. There were many sessions highlighting corporate leaders and their work “on purpose”. They have just released their session on YouTube and you can check them out here. I would recommend this Session on BCorps and The Climate Pledge: Betting on a Zero Carbon Economy by Amazon and my personal favourite For a Responsible and More Humane Capitalism with a focus on stakeholder values and organizational opportunities.

4. FU 2020

To end this year I want to share a “tribute” to 2020 by Toronto’s own Public Inc. which is a fundraiser for mental health services. This resonates with me on so many levels but if you have folks around who are offended by swearing you may want to watch the volume on this one. But with that sentiment in mind, and as we say good-by to the year that was, I wish you all health, happiness and a safe holiday with those you love.
